Painful City Ankara

This book, which was first published by another publisher in 2008, was revised from the beginning before I submitted it to İZAN Publishing House 15 years later for its new edition. I removed some, added some, and updated them. It was very painful to look back after all these years and remember what great problems Turkey had encountered and what dark and painful days it had gone through after the Atatürk era. The worst part is that the problems still haven’t been solved. The economy is still terrible, the dollar has skyrocketed again, and the high cost of living is crippling the people… Foreign states are still playing games on my country and new borders are being drawn.
You too will think of these days when you read this extensively updated new edition. You may read it with a burning heart; but this book was written to tell future generations about our past and present, and to leave a note in history. Of course, there will be those who will write about what happened after the 1980 Coup. I wish you a pleasant reading.
