This work is the most widely used resource book in psychology, psychological counseling and social service application and training programs today. You can refer to this book to learn certain psychotherapy systems and to make the best use of these systems in therapy applications by comparing them with each other. Each psychotherapy is introduced from the perspective of its founder or most famous practitioner. The basic principles of the psychotherapy system are explained in a clear and concise language, by comparing them with other systems.
The structure of the sections is designed in a way that will facilitate learning. In this way, the book can be read horizontally (by section by section) or vertically (by comparing section summaries and scanning only a certain topic from each section) and used in research.
Each section begins by explaining the theory on which psychotherapies are based. At the same time, a case story is discussed in the Application section in each section. Here, the evaluation, treatment and follow-up of a certain psychological problem are discussed. In this way, the theoretical foundations of psychotherapy are understood and how the theory can be applied is seen.
The comprehensive, detailed, and up-to-date psychotherapy dictionary in the book re-presents the topics and terminology covered in the book in a concise manner. This book, which has been reprinted many times over the past 38 years and meticulously updated with each edition, has reached more than 1 million readers worldwide and has been translated into 15 different languages. Prof. Raymond J. Corsini worked as a prison psychologist for 15 years, as an industrial psychologist for 10 years, and as an Adlerian psychotherapist in private practice for 30 years. He has written more than 60 works, including a comprehensive psychology dictionary and four encyclopedias. He has served as a psychology professor at many different universities.
Prof. Danny Wedding has worked as a psychologist in the US Senate and the US House of Representatives. Wedding, who has 12 published books, has served as a psychology professor and administrator at universities. He currently serves as an administrator at the American Psychological Association (APA).
