Flowers for Algernon

Born with a very low IQ, Charlie was a perfect candidate for scientists to perform an experimental surgery that would increase his intelligence. This experiment was tested on a lab rat named Algernon and was a great success. After the surgery, Charlie's condition was followed by the reports he wrote in his diary. His first reports were dominated by childish language and spelling mistakes. And then the surgery started to take effect. Charlie thought that people would no longer make fun of him and that he would make lots of friends and that he would be able to open up to the woman he loved. However, since his intelligence had skyrocketed, he was found strange and envied by those around him and he still failed to make the friends he wanted and was still alone...
