Equipment
The vacuum cleaner is packed in a cardboard box with a full-color design. On the front side, the manufacturer has placed two photos of the device: in the floor cleaning and manual mode versions. The key characteristics of the model are also indicated: an inverter brushless (BLDC) motor with a power of 450 W, a lithium-ion battery that provides up to 45 minutes of operation without recharging, and a liquid crystal (LCD) indicator to display the charge level and speed.
The top side of the package contains detailed information about the device’s components, with photographs. After opening the box, we found the following inside:
- motor unit with a dust container
- removable battery
- electric floor brush
- additional rotor for the electric brush
- extension tube
- crevice nozzle
- upholstery attachment
- stand for storing the device when disassembled
- DC adapter
- user manual
- warranty card
The equipment of this model is average: in the box we found a storage stand and an additional rotor for the electric brush, but the vacuum cleaner comes with only one electric nozzle and two standard ones.
At first glance
The vacuum cleaner body is made of gray-steel plastic with a matte metallic effect. Orange moving elements and filter parts perfectly complement the overall aesthetics. The whole design looks very solid.
The Lex LXVCS 7073 uses a longitudinal layout: a cylindrical container with a cyclone filter is located parallel to the air flow. A BLDC motor is located behind the container, and then the air passes through an exhaust HEPA filter.
There is a round touchscreen display on the back of the cylindrical body. The display is not visible when the device is turned off — we will take a closer look at the screen when we charge and turn on the vacuum cleaner.
Under the air duct pipe you can see a two-pin connector that supplies power to the motor brush.
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a removable lithium-ion battery (2500 mAh, 26.6 V), which is attached at the bottom.
The standard battery is equipped with a 10-pin connector for connection to the device and a socket for the network adapter. The battery can be charged both on the vacuum cleaner and separately. In the latter case, the charge level is displayed by three blue LEDs located on the body.
The air flow with debris and dust from the air tract turns 180° and enters the container, where it swirls around the central cyclone element. Large and heavy particles are thrown off by the cyclone «skirt» and settle at the bottom of the plastic cylinder, while medium particles are separated using a steel mesh with microperforation. Fine dust is retained on the HEPA disk filter, which is responsible for fine cleaning.
The exhaust filter is a cylindrical HEPA element mounted at the rear of the motor block under a plastic cover.
The front end of the waste container folds down: you can empty the container without getting your hands dirty, but you will have to remove the waste container to do this.
Electric brush — with a transparent plastic cap that allows you to control the rotation of the rotor.
The front part of the floor nozzle contains a work area illumination unit consisting of four bright LEDs.
The weight of the structure is supported by large rubberized rollers on the rear part. For better maneuverability, there are two small wheels in the middle part. Brush elements located behind the rotor and on the sides provide better adhesion to the surface.
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with two rotary brushes: a soft velour one is designed for hard surfaces, and the one with hard bristles makes it easier to care for carpets.
Inside the extension tube there is a wire that powers the electric brush.
The tube is equipped with a hinge that allows it to be folded almost in half.
The vacuum cleaner comes with two non-motorized attachments for manual cleaning: a crevice nozzle and an upholstery cleaning tool. Both accessories have a simple and traditional design, familiar to us from many other models.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a storage stand, which is supplied disassembled: a base, a telescopic stand and a mount for the device.
Assembly does not take much time: just insert the stand into the base hole until it clicks and put the holder on it. The height is adjustable according to the user's height.
The holder can accommodate a motor unit with an extension tube and a floor electric brush, and non-electrified attachments can be attached underneath.
The stand is for storage only: the charger must be connected to the motor unit manually.
The included adapter supplies the vacuum cleaner with direct current (35 V, 0.5 A).
Instructions
The user manual is a 26-page A5 brochure printed on thick paper with good printing quality.
The manual is written in Russian and is intended for four similar models of vacuum cleaners at once. The differences between them are explained in detail in the text.
The manual describes in detail the design of the vacuum cleaner and its accessories, includes recommendations for the use and care of the device, and also provides a list of possible malfunctions with instructions on how to eliminate them, technical specifications and warranty information.
Control
The Lex LXVCS 7073 is turned on and off using a button on the pistol grip. Next to it is a button that controls the latch of the waste container.
The Lex LXVCS 7073 starts at medium power, one of three available. Two touch buttons on the control panel are used to adjust the speed: pressing the five-blade fan icon increases the power, and touching the three-blade fan symbol decreases it.
The blue ring around the control panel serves as a power indicator.
In the center of the round panel is a digital LED indicator showing the current battery charge level.
It is worth noting a small error in the information on the packaging: the control panel is equipped with an LED display, not an LCD.
Operation
Before first use, the manufacturer recommends removing all packaging materials and stickers, inspecting the device for damage and reading the safety instructions.
If the vacuum cleaner was transported at sub-zero temperatures, it should be left at room temperature for at least 3 hours before turning it on (which is true for all electrical appliances, especially cordless ones).
Assembling the vacuum cleaner and storage stand is simple: all parts fit together well, and the design is easy to understand intuitively.
Before using, the Lex LXVCS 7073 should be fully charged, like any other cordless device. The first charge cycle may take longer, so we usually leave the device overnight.
The charge level is displayed on the control panel to the nearest percent. When the charge reaches 100%, you can start using the vacuum cleaner.
The device is relatively lightweight, well balanced and fits comfortably in the hand, with intuitive controls. It is equally convenient for both right- and left-handed people. However, both hands are required for operation: due to the location and design of the control panel, it is impossible to hold the vacuum cleaner and change the speed at the same time.
The design of the motor unit body and the floor brush allows easy cleaning in hard-to-reach places, such as under sofas and cabinets, using the full length of the tube. The low height of this part of the device helps collect dust even between low furniture legs.
The flexible hinge allows the extension tube to be folded into different positions, allowing you to clean even the most hard-to-reach places. If necessary, it can also be used with non-motorized attachments.
Returning the tube to its original position is easy: you need to lift it slightly, after which it will straighten under its own weight and lock with a light click.
The floor attachment does not have a parking position, so during pauses the vacuum cleaner has to be leaned against a wall or furniture, which can lead to it falling and being damaged.
The illumination of the working area makes cleaning much easier: low-mounted LEDs illuminate dust and debris well, which are difficult to notice with overhead lighting. This function is especially useful in semi-darkness, since there is no need to turn on all available light sources when cleaning.
In the handheld configuration, the vacuum cleaner is just as comfortable to use as when sweeping: it is not too heavy and is well balanced.
In our opinion, the set of attachments is not enough: for effective operation in manual mode, the vacuum cleaner clearly lacks an additional motorized brush for furniture and a flexible corrugated tube, which would further simplify cleaning in hard-to-reach places.
However, for quick daily cleaning, two attachments from the set are quite enough.
The transparent body of the dust collector allows you to easily monitor the filling level of the tank. It is worth noting the good quality of the plastic: after several intensive cleanings, we did not notice the characteristic clouding of the inner surface caused by the rotation of solid particles in the cyclone.
The hinged lid on the end allows you to quickly and easily shake out most of the contents.
However, the dirt accumulated around the steel mesh will have to be removed manually by removing the cyclone element.
After several cleanings, only a small amount of fine dust accumulated on the HEPA pre-filter. The outer surface of the ribbed disc remained snow-white. We also did not notice any contamination on the exhaust filter. Overall, we rate the filtration quality of the Lex LXVCS 7073 as excellent.
Care
The device body should be cleaned first with a damp and then with a dry soft cloth, avoiding liquid getting inside the body, brushes and tubes.
The manufacturer recommends cleaning the waste container after each cleaning. It is also necessary to monitor the cleanliness of the fine filter and the exhaust filter. HEPA elements cannot be washed: they should only be cleaned dry.
When using an electric brush, threads, hair and similar debris can get wound around its rotor, which must be removed regularly, if necessary, by disassembling the nozzle.
The service life of the filters is not specified by the manufacturer, and replacement consumables are not found on the site.
