Let's think about those ordinary vacuum cleaners that are not upright or robotic, but those that have wheels and a hose. Lately they have somehow been forgotten, so what to do with them? Change the bag? No, just throw out the garbage disposal!
So let's remember how to wind a cord, how to roll up a hose, how to roll a vacuum cleaner behind you on wheels. Arnica Nika ET14471 will help us — and we will tell you everything important about it.

Equipment
The vacuum cleaner comes in a large cardboard box with colorful printing. The device itself is depicted on the top and side surfaces of the box, and the manufacturer supplements this image by listing the key characteristics of the model. Among them are high suction power, ease of cleaning of the container (capacity — 2.5 liters), significant effective radius (9 meters) and the use of an ultra-strong hose.
Having opened the box, inside we found:
- motor unit with installed waste bin
- corrugated hose
- telescopic tube
- floor nozzle
- slot nozzle
- user guide
The Arnica Nika ET14471 kit includes only the necessary minimum of accessories and attachments: one for sweeping the floor, and the second (crevice) for cleaning hard-to-reach places.
At first sight
The black and white body of the vacuum cleaner is made of glossy plastic and decorated with numerous decorative ribs and linings.
Like most vacuum cleaners of this type, ours rests on three wheels: two large ones are conspicuous on the sides, and the third, a guide, is located on the bottom panel.
The hose connector at the front of the engine block is of a non-standard design and is equipped with slots for latches that secure it in the housing.
Half of the front part of the case is occupied by a removable trash bin made of dark translucent plastic. The inside of the container compartment is decorated with a sticker that explains in detail the process of emptying the container and how to care for it.
The garbage bin is equipped with a hinged lid that allows you to shake out garbage without getting your hands dirty, and a convenient handle for carrying.
At the heart of the garbage disposal is a cyclonic element, which is a simple design. Due to centrifugal force, large pieces of debris are pushed towards the edges of the container through the upper opening of the shaft, while the air flow with dust passes through the conical grille and is directed downwards towards the filter for fine cleaning.
The air outlet from the container is square-shaped and covered with an easy-to-clean fine filter made of non-woven material attached to a plastic grid. Directly in front of this filter is a square foam element.
In the “feed” of the vacuum cleaner, behind the outlet grille, there is another filter. It is a ribbed HEPA element in a plastic frame.
There is a groove on the exhaust filter grille, in which you can conveniently attach the floor nozzle during pauses in cleaning.
We found another groove at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner: our device can be stored both vertically and horizontally.
The silver plastic corrugated hose, about 2 meters long, is equipped with a mechanical suction regulator at the end. This model has no other options for controlling power.
The metal telescopic tube can be expanded from 52 to 82 cm. It is fixed using a plastic latch button.
The single floor nozzle has a simple, time-tested design. On its top panel there is a pedal that controls the retractable brush.
For carpeting, it is recommended to extend the brush, but for smooth floors it is more effective to ensure a tight fit across the entire bottom surface. Two red velor strips help reduce slipping on parquet, laminate and tiles.
The only attachment included in the kit for manual cleaning is a short slotted nozzle of the simplest design.
As already mentioned, the equipment of the Arnica Nika ET14471 is Spartan.
Instructions
The user manual is a 20-page A5 brochure printed on thin yellowish paper. The document is compiled in English and Russian.
The second part of the brochure is intended for Russian-speaking users. It provides information about using the vacuum cleaner, safety precautions when working with it, care recommendations and a list of possible malfunctions. The last page of the brochure is dedicated to the warranty card, which provides space for notes from the seller and the service center.
Control
The only control element for the vacuum cleaner is a large button on the top panel that turns the device on and off.
The key is placed in such a way that its dimensions provide equal comfort when pressed by both hand and foot.
This model does not have an automatic cord rewind feature. To retract the electrical wire inside, just pull it towards you a little and then release it.
Exploitation
Before starting use, the manufacturer recommends checking the correct assembly of the device and making sure that all filters are installed correctly, since using the vacuum cleaner without them is prohibited.
The vacuum cleaner has good maneuverability, allowing free movement with the user due to its compact dimensions and light weight. During testing, this model proved to be predictable and easy to control.
The power button is convenient in location and shape, making it easy to press with both your hand and foot. The mechanical adjustment of the suction power allows it to be adapted to different materials when cleaning, for example when processing curtains.
The vacuum cleaner can work in both horizontal and vertical positions. During breaks in work, the brush with extension tube can be conveniently parked in the groove for the floor nozzle on the bottom panel if the vacuum cleaner is standing vertically. A similar recess for horizontal parking is available on the rear of the case.
Despite the lack of attachments included, the manufacturer offers a variety of additional accessories for more effective cleaning, available for purchase on the official website.
The model is not equipped with a button for automatic cord winding. To do this, after cleaning, just slightly pull the electrical cord towards you and release it — the device will do the rest itself.
The volume of the Arnica Nika's dust collector is quite impressive: after three weeks of use in a three-room apartment, it was not possible to fill it completely.
Monitoring the filling level of the garbage container is difficult due to the translucent walls. The presence of fine dust on the inner surfaces of the walls further complicates observation.
Although most of the contaminants remain in the outer container, some small debris and even large fragments still end up in the central pipe.
Dust remains on the second filter and in front of it. A noticeable portion of it settles on both sides of the foam rubber pre-filter that protects the main element.
Despite this barrier, the outer surface of the fine filter becomes dirty quite quickly.
After several cleanings, its inner surface only darkened slightly.
We did not find any traces of dust on the surfaces of the exhaust filters. We consider the overall filtration quality of this model to be good.
Care
The manufacturer emphasizes the need to turn off and remove the plug from the socket before cleaning and maintaining the vacuum cleaner.
Emptying the container is easy with one hand: the top lid latch is easily opened with your thumb and the contents of the container are poured into the bin, minimizing the risk of contamination.
Regular checks of the filters, including the exhaust filter, are recommended after each cleaning and should be cleaned as necessary. The manufacturer allows all filter elements to be washed, but they must be allowed to dry completely before installing them in place. However, the use of dishwashing detergents, powders and other chemicals is strictly prohibited.
Our measurements
We present the mass measurements of the main components of the vacuum cleaner in the table:
Weight, g | |
---|---|
Motor block assembled with dust collector | 4965 |
Corrugated hose | 475 |
Telescopic tube | 455 |
Parquet nozzle | 590 |
First of all, we are interested in the weight of the “hose + pipe + floor brush” assembly, which we usually hold in our hands during the cleaning process. This kit weighs 1520g.
Suction power was measured using a vacuum cleaner without a tube or attachments, in three different modes. The graph of the dependence of suction power on the created vacuum is presented below:
The suction power we measured reaches 263.4 aW.
The maximum power consumption for the entire test operation was 1164 W.
Accordingly, the efficiency of the device, which we define as the ratio of suction power to power consumed from the network, is about 22.5%.
The noise level with an attached floor electric brush is 84 dBA.
Let's summarize our measurements in one table:
Maximum suction power | 263 aw |
---|---|
Maximum power consumption | 1164 W |
Efficiency based on measurement results | up to 22.5% |
Noise level | up to 84 dBA |
Maximum assembled weight | 6485 g |
Weight of hose, telescopic tube and floor nozzle | 1520 g |
conclusions
We appreciated the Arnica Nika vacuum cleaner for its good power, economical energy consumption and high efficiency. This model also stands out for its low noise level, convenient controls and simple design.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a very spartan set of attachments, but we didn’t see a big problem with this: if necessary, additional accessories can be purchased on the manufacturer’s website. A more significant drawback seemed to us to be the lack of electronic power level control.
Pros:
- good suction power combined with low energy consumption
- excellent filtration system efficiency
- low noise level
- convenient design
Minuses:
- no electronic power control
