Turkish Literature in the Republican Period

Prof. Dr. İnci Enginün had previously collected the studies and researches she had conducted for many years in three books called New Turkish Literature Studies, Comparative Literature, Studies and Documents . She is now presenting the results of her studies in a two-volume literary history. The first product of this extensive study, Turkish Literature in the Republican Period, was followed by New Turkish Literature - From Tanzimat to the Republic (1839-1923)
. Although some classification attempts were made in this book, which is organized according to genres, individuals still stand out. This book consists of a bird's eye view of the adventure of Turkish, which has a very rich literary heritage, in the Republican period. It does not aim to mention all individuals or to make definitive judgments about all works. Time will undoubtedly deem many evaluations of today invalid in the future, just as it did in the past.
Turkish Literature in the Republican Period is a rich literature covering a period of almost eighty years. We often do not notice this wealth, like the air we breathe and the many beauties. Literature has continued its adventures full of the ups and downs of both art and social life until today, and will continue to do so in the future.
