This book, which was created based on the need to compile the Monetary Theory and Monetary Policy courses that I have been teaching as separate courses in various departments for many years from various sources and make them a whole, aims to bring together the topics that are explained separately. It is thought that the book, which was created based on the necessity of covering all the topics that are intended to be explained in this breadth and being together, will provide convenience to students with its content as a whole. The aim of this book is to summarize the topics related to monetary theory and policy and to help students as a textbook. In the book, which includes the necessary theoretical information for a better analysis of the developments in the Turkish economy in general, the structure of financial markets is examined first by starting from the characteristics and functions of money. In addition, the functions of the Central Bank, theories of money demand and the objectives and instruments of monetary policy are discussed in detail. The effectiveness of monetary and fiscal policies in the economy in open economies is revealed. The approaches of economic schools to monetary policy and the implementation of monetary policy in the Turkish economy are included.
