Review of the narrow washing machine Candy UltimO C37W4 27MBBW-07

Saving water and energy is important for both the user's budget and the environment. However, it is equally important, and sometimes even more critical, that the washing machine provides excellent washing quality in a short time, without sacrificing efficiency for the sake of savings.

^* Contrary to popular belief, this is not a period after which the device will necessarily break down. However, after this period, the manufacturer ceases to bear any responsibility for its functionality and has the right to refuse to repair it, even for a fee.

The washing machine is packed in a technological cardboard box with foam inserts and covered with thick polyethylene film. Additional protection of the drum cover and rigidity of the structure is provided by a wooden block on the front side of the package.

The packaging contains only shipping instructions. To check the model of the washing machine, you need to find its index on the paper sticker on the side of the box, where all the necessary information is indicated.

After opening the box, we found the machine itself, already equipped with a drain hose, a simple inlet hose, a bracket for mounting the hose, a user manual and the obligatory sticker with energy efficiency data.

The Candy UltimO C37W4 27MBBW-07 washing machine has a strict black and white design. The control panel and the detergent compartment cover are combined into a single smooth black plastic surface.

In the center of the control panel is a round program selector. To the right of it is a display module and a group of touch buttons for controlling washing modes (we will look at the control panel in detail below).

The glass lid of the drum is covered with a decorative cap made of translucent black plastic.

It is decorated around the perimeter with a rim made of silver metallized plastic, and is held in place by metal hinges.

The inner surface of the drum has stamped quadrangles to improve hydrodynamics and is equipped with slightly curved plastic strikers for agitation of the laundry. Perforation is performed both on the side walls and on the back of the drum.

The detergent compartment is divided into two sections: on the right is a container for liquid or powder detergent, and on the left is a tray for conditioner. For pre-washing in this model, you can load powder or gel directly into the drum or use clean water for soaking.

In the lower right corner of the front panel we see a round drain filter hatch with an emergency drain pipe.

The side walls have a relief stamping. From this angle, it is noticeable that the frame of the hatch cover protrudes significantly beyond the main contour of the car — this is important to consider when planning transportation through narrow doorways.

The corrugated drain hose is already installed on the washing machine, while the inlet hose needs to be attached to the water outlet located in the upper right corner of the rear panel.

For transportation, the drum is secured with four bolts with large rubber shock absorbers. Before first use, these should be removed and replaced with the plastic plugs that are included.

When getting to know a new washing machine, we, as usual, carry out a partial disassembly, removing the top plastic panel and the back cover, and take pictures of the unit from the inside: from the top, back and bottom.

The user manual is in A5 format and printed on thin yellowish paper. The printing quality is average: although the small font is easy to read, some images, especially those showing the control panel, are not clear enough.

The instructions are written in two languages ​​- Russian and Kazakh. The Russian-language part takes up exactly half of the 34-page booklet.

The cylindrical selector on the left side of the control panel allows you to select the main washing programs. The name of the current one is displayed on the monochrome display to the right of the handle.

There are touch buttons under the screen to control the washing options.

• Extra rinse adds one to three additional rinse cycles to the selected program.
• Delay start allows you to delay the start of the program for a period of 30 minutes to 24 hours in half-hour increments.
• Washing temperature can be selected from 90, 60, 40, 30 and 20 °C. Setting the value to «0» turns off the water heating.
• Spin allows you to select the drum rotation speed: 1200, 1000, 800, 600 and 400 rpm. Speed ​​«0» turns off the spin.
• Steam activates the steam treatment function and sets the maximum temperature for the selected program. Available in the Cotton, Synthetics, Coloreds, Babywear and Everyday programs.
• The child lock function is switched on and off by pressing the «Extra Rinse» and «Delay Start» sensors simultaneously for a long time (3 seconds).

When selecting a temperature or spin speed, the display shows the corresponding values. In normal mode, the screen shows the name of the program and the remaining time until its completion.

The display has good contrast, which ensures that the display is clear in any lighting conditions. However, the size of the letters and numbers is quite small, which may make it difficult for people with poor vision to read, forcing them to bend over to distinguish the program name and the values ​​set.

On the right side of the panel there are buttons for controlling additional washing functions. Each of the three sensors is assigned two options that can be turned on and off by successive pressing.

• «Economical wash» increases the duration of the program and reduces the default heating temperature, which reduces energy consumption.
• «Intensive wash» extends the washing time and adds an additional rinse cycle, designed for very dirty clothes.
• «Easy iron» includes periodic rotation of the drum after the final spin to reduce the formation of creases and make ironing easier. This function works up to 12 hours.
• «Night mode» turns off all sound signals, except for emergency ones, and activates the «easy ironing» function, preventing creasing of laundry.
• «Prewash» allows soaking. Since the detergent drawer does not have a separate compartment for pre-wash, it is recommended not to use detergents or add them directly to the drum.
• «Hygiene+» increases the number of rinses and increases the washing temperature to the maximum for the selected program, ensuring deep cleaning and effective removal of allergens.

When each additional function is activated, the corresponding symbol lights up above the sensor.

Below is a table with factory values ​​for each program and possible ranges of manual settings.

This model offers a standard set of programs: for cotton, synthetics, colored fabrics, children's clothing, down jackets and sportswear, as well as for hand and delicate washing. Two quick programs (15 and 39 minutes) and a mode for daily washing are also available.

Most programs are set for washing in warm water (30 °C), but the temperature can be adjusted within the range suitable for each type of fabric. Spin settings are also adequate.

There is no separate program for rinsing without washing, but spinning can be used as a separate scenario. The maximum washing temperature reaches 90 °C, but is only available in the cotton and children's clothing modes.

The default programs have a relatively short operating time, which is suitable for users who value their time. When manually setting the temperature, the washing time increases. For example, for the Cotton program, the time changes as follows:

In addition to the usual washing and spinning scenarios, the Candy UltimO C37W4 27MBBW-07 also has a service self-cleaning mode at the maximum (90 °C) temperature.

Before using the washing machine, you need to complete a few steps. First, unpack the device and remove the four shipping bolts from the back panel, closing the resulting holes with the plastic plugs that are included in the kit.

The drain and inlet hoses are connected in the standard way.

After installation, make sure that the machine is level to prevent vibration and noise. This can be done using the two front feet, which are easily adjusted with a wrench or pliers.

When connecting to the electrical network, check that the socket is grounded and the circuit breaker matches the power of the device.

Before the first use, it is recommended to run a self-cleaning cycle without loading laundry, using a small amount of detergent or a specialized cleaning agent for washing machines. This mode is also useful after long breaks in use.

The washing time displayed on the display when selecting a program exactly corresponds to the duration of operation, regardless of the level of dirt or the volume of laundry. The machine itself calculates water consumption, determining the load volume and, if necessary, adding water a few minutes after the start of the cycle.

If the door is not completely closed, the washing machine will sound a warning signal and display an error message on the display. To continue working, simply close the door tightly.

When the washing cycle is complete, the machine will sound a melodic signal and then immediately unlock the door. In this model, there is no pause between the signal and unlocking.

To clean the body of the washing machine, use only a damp soft cloth, avoiding abrasives, alcohol and solvents, so as not to damage the plastic.

Clean the detergent drawer regularly by removing the cassette and rinsing it under running water. It is also recommended to periodically clean the outlet filter.

To care for the interior of the machine, use the «Drum Cleaning» program. Run it with a small amount of detergent and without laundry. The frequency of this procedure depends on the intensity of use of the machine.

We estimated the drum capacity with some error, assuming that its shape is close to cylindrical. The radius of the cylinder is 25 cm, the depth is 22.5 cm. With these parameters, the volume is approximately 44 liters.

To check the operation of the device, we traditionally monitored the cotton wash cycle at 30 ° C per minute. Here are our results.

We also didn't miss the opportunity to track a quick 15-minute scenario.

These parameters are not provided in the instructions, so we offer the results of our measurements for the programs that we used during the testing process.

The maximum power consumption of the washing machine is 1718 W, in standby mode it consumes 1.2 W, and when turned off — about 0.3 W.

We also assessed the actual spin efficiency, measuring it in grams of water per gram of cotton, using the following formula: (spin weight — dry weight) / dry weight. For this test, we used 10 white terry towels with a total weight of about 2 kg.

The noise level was measured in a typical location for washing machines — in the bathroom. The noise meter was placed at a height of 1 m from the floor and at a distance of 1 m from the washing machine, in the center of the front side.

To assess the quality of washing, we have developed standard tests: we apply difficult-to-remove stains to white cotton fabric and then try to wash out the resulting stains.

As usual, we took red wine, ketchup, soy sauce and cocoa. These bright products were applied to white cotton terry napkins and left for 24 hours to make the task more difficult.

We washed the napkins prepared in this way on a standard program for cotton at the default temperature (30 °C). The result can be seen in the photos below.

On the standard cotton program, ketchup and soy sauce were washed out without a trace, and only slightly noticeable traces remained from wine and cocoa. A very good result.

Wanting to see if we could improve on the previous test, we repeated the experiment with a new set of napkins.

This time we used the same program for cotton, increasing the water temperature to the maximum 90 °C. After looking at the result, we realized that there was no point in photographing the napkins: all the dirt was washed off without a trace.

Result: excellent

But washing is usually not limited to cotton items. That's why we also test the machines on wool items, which are the most delicate. For the test, we used a blanket weighing just under a kilogram.

Since this model does not have a special mode for washing wool, we chose the most suitable «Hand wash» program with default settings (without heating the water and spinning at 800 rpm).

We were completely satisfied with the result: the wool blanket withstood the washing perfectly, did not shrink or felt. Spinning at 800 rpm left us with slightly damp fabric, which we dried in the open air for a couple of hours.

Result: excellent.

The Candy UltimO C37W4 27MBBW-07 washing machine features a stylish and modern design, compact dimensions and convenient controls. Its reduced depth allows it to be easily placed in a bathroom or kitchen, even in a small apartment.

Practical tests have shown that the Candy UltimO C37W4 27MBBW-07 model provides excellent washing quality with moderate energy and water consumption. The default programs provide high efficiency, and the ability to manually adjust the washing temperature and spin speed makes it suitable for various needs.

The washing duration of this model is noticeably shorter compared to most similar devices, which allows you to save not only water and electricity, but also time.

The main disadvantage is the small and inconvenient for people with poor eyesight display, which does not display information well.
