Review of the Rawmid Portable RPI-01 irrigator

Portable irrigators are becoming increasingly popular among users who value functionality, comfort and quality of treatment. Experts recommend using them not only at home, but also when traveling and at work. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate how well the Rawmid Portable RPI-01 irrigator meets these market requirements.

* Contrary to popular belief, this is not the time limit after which the device will necessarily break down. However, after this period, the manufacturer ceases to bear any responsibility for its performance and has the right to refuse to repair it, even for a fee.

The irrigator was delivered for testing in two boxes: the top one is made of kraft cardboard, and the inner one is a glossy gift wrapping. The top box indicates the model name and main advantages, such as a large set of nozzles, 3 jet pressure modes, compactness, spaciousness and the ability to work on a single charge for up to 150 days. All inscriptions are duplicated in Russian and English. On the lid there is also an offer to receive an additional nozzle for leaving a review on the site.

On the gift box on the top cover there is a photo of the irrigator and a list of its advantages, and on the side panels there are technical characteristics, brand name and model. On the bottom of the box there is an outline of the irrigator, as well as schematic symbols of its advantages, brand name and model. The side panels contain social network icons, characteristics of each operating mode, and an offer to receive a gift for leaving a review.

The boxes are stacked tightly inside each other. Inside the package there is a special tray with compartments for the irrigator and a case with nozzles. Below them are the remaining components:

The device is truly exceptionally compact, from the packaging to the device inside it. The irrigator itself resembles a small pencil case that easily fits in the palm of your hand, fits comfortably in a bag and takes up minimal space on the sink. The upper section moves upward in a sliding motion, freeing up space below for filling the tank with water. This position is fixed with a slight click, allowing access to the control panel. The nozzle socket is located on top, next to it there is a rubber plug that hides the charging place and the hole for filling the tank with water.

The irrigator reservoir is designed for 140 ml, which is usually enough for high-quality cleaning of the oral cavity. The attachment socket and the attachments themselves can rotate 360 degrees. The power button, speed change and charge indicator are hidden under the sliding part of the body; access to them opens when pulled apart. During testing, it was found that the device is convenient to use with both right and left hands, since the control button is located under the thumb in both cases, which makes its use intuitive.

The Rawmid Portable RPI-01 irrigator is charged via a magnetic USB cable — you can charge it from a laptop, portable charger or power supply. The magnetic part of the cable is connected to the connector under the rubber cover. It takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge, but after 50 minutes the device is ready for use. We weren't able to test whether a single charge actually lasts 150 hours, but we didn't have to recharge the device during our 5 days of intensive testing.

Magnetic charging causes a double impression: when installed in a stable position, the device charges quickly and without problems, but trying to install the charging structure on the flimsy surface of the back of the sofa caused criticism. A nice touch is that the USB cable itself is magnetized, eliminating the need for the user to mechanically remove the connector, which will likely help prevent future wear and tear.

The irrigator is virtually weightless; with water (or even without it), its weight is almost unnoticeable in a travel and everyday bag. We took it to work, trusted our children and elderly relatives, and no one expressed any complaints about its design or external parameters. The main review was simple: “light”, “comfortable”.

When disassembled, it becomes taller; The working position of the housing must be secured by extending it until there is a characteristic soft click. The lithium battery inside the waterproof case is well protected, so the device can and should be used in the bathroom, in the working kitchen, in transport and in a hotel room. After expanding and securing the nozzle on top, filling with liquid and selecting a mode, the irrigator is ready for use.

There are only three of them: normal, soft and impulse. It is recommended that you discuss the choice of regimen with your dentist. Switching modes is done by pressing a single button at intervals of 5 seconds. There is a smart chip installed inside the irrigator that remembers the last used mode, so that the next time you turn it on, the mode that was used before turning it off will be automatically activated.

The position and method of working with the irrigator is a matter of habit and individual preference. The nozzle should be directed towards the gums and teeth so that the water flows vertically downwards. The combination of modes and attachments allows you to solve various problems. For example, a periodontal attachment and a soft mode help not only clean the oral cavity during inflammation, but also reduce its manifestations. The pulse mode is recommended for effective cleaning of hard-to-reach areas such as veneers, bridges and braces.

Rawmid Portable RPI-01 has three attachments: standard, periodontal and tongue cleaning. It is recommended that you discuss the choice of attachments with your dentist. Although it is assumed that all attachments are individual and intended for one person, the manufacturer also offers the opportunity to purchase separate sets of attachments for the model, which allows the irrigator to be used by several family members.

The hole for filling liquid is located next to the magnetic charging under the same rubber cover. It is quite narrow, which can make it difficult to fill the tank directly from the tap. A more convenient option is to use a measuring cup. The hole can also be used for convenient storage of the nozzle during transport of the device.

The irrigator is made in white with a lower part made of more transparent plastic. The top features the brand name and a thin silver trim, which adds charm to the design. The simplicity and intuitiveness of the device create a pleasant impression.

The brochure is made in small print format on coated paper and contains 20 pages. It is presented in Russian and English, with the Russian part being more extensive. It contains basic instructions for use, a description of the scope of application, equipment, information on spare parts and accessories, processes for charging and installing attachments, switching modes, recommendations for care and cleaning, disposal requirements, as well as recommendations for storage and transportation. The text includes safety precautions, technical specifications, certification, authentication and brand warranty information. The brochure is illustrated with photographs and detailed diagrams, and is written clearly, concisely and concisely.

The process of using the device is extremely simple: after filling the reservoir and installing the nozzle, everything is controlled with one button. This button is responsible for turning on and switching modes. It is important to remember that there is a smart chip: before pressing the button, you must make sure that the device is pointed downwards, towards the mouth or sink. When turned on, the last selected mode automatically starts and the water jet is directed to where it was last aimed. This approach can be useful to surprise a child, scare an unsuspecting cat, or sway a curious grandma.

The manufacturer recommends that before use, rinse the device, fully charge it and use it exclusively indoors, since it is not intended for operation at low temperatures outdoors.

Before starting use, it is advisable to discuss with your dentist the modes and selection of a suitable attachment, receive practical advice and get used to working with the device over the sink.

Installing the nozzle requires inserting it into a special connector until it clicks; To remove the nozzle, you need to press a special button located above the control panel. It is important to avoid pressing this button while the device is operating.

It is recommended to pour water from a measuring cup rather than directly from the tap. After filling the tank, you should close the hole with a rubber cap to avoid accidental spillage of water.

When directing the stream towards the gums and teeth, it is important that the water flows from top to bottom, at an angle of approximately 45°. It is recommended to pay special attention to hard-to-reach areas such as interdental spaces. If necessary, you can additionally purchase a special attachment for braces, but the standard attachment turned out to be quite effective for a teenager.

The first difficulties arose during normal operation, when the jet pressure suddenly decreased when the tank was about a third empty. We noticed that the device would periodically stop dispensing water to the nozzle, especially when the water level in the reservoir was low or when experimenting with directing the stream into the sink rather than into the mouth.

The kit lacked a case for the device, so we stored it in a separate bag in the bag. Despite the sufficient tightness of the package, oral hygiene is an extremely important issue, and we did not want to risk it being compromised during transportation.

Assembling and disassembling the device is easy and without unnecessary effort. Any remaining water drains off easily and the waterpik dries quickly in just a few minutes. Condensation can sometimes collect inside the nozzle, which can also be easily washed off with water.

For the test, we took the device with us to work and even used it while visiting a restaurant. 1.5 minutes is how long an intensive cleansing takes on average, and this time passes almost unnoticed. Thanks to the compact size of the irrigator, it can be easily placed even in a small handbag, and the stylish design makes using the device even more comfortable.

Rawmid Portable RPI-01 has excellent stability and stands perfectly on any surface — on a table, sink or shelf. Moreover, its stylish design adds elegance to any interior.

Caring for the irrigator is extremely simple: first turn off its power, then open the lid and either drain the remaining water, or turn on the device and remove the remaining water under pressure into the sink. The irrigator is waterproof so it can be washed under the tap if needed, but should not be used in the dishwasher.

After this, you need to either dry the device or wipe it and put it in a box or place. The manufacturer recommends changing attachments every six months and, if necessary, washing them with warm water and soap.

Before using the device after a long period of inactivity, it is recommended to rinse it and fully charge it. You can use a soft cloth to clean the housing, but for more thorough cleaning, remove and wash the reservoir separately.

The device can be transported by any type of transport, but its exposure to rain and aggressive environments should be avoided. Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures and shock. It is important to remember that you should not use iodine, bleach or essential oils in the device. It is also important not to turn on the irrigator with an empty water tank.

Rawmid Portable RPI-01 exhibited moderate noise levels, reaching about 65 dBA at maximum pressure. Energy consumption in charging mode is less than 8 W.

The tank capacity is 140 ml of water, enough to operate the device for one to one and a half minutes, depending on the selected mode.
