In order to add a pleasant aroma both in the house and in the car, it is enough to ventilate the room and use fragrances. Scents can help create a certain mood: bright green and citrus aromas can wake you up in the morning, lemon balm soothes anxiety, rosemary puts you in a working mood, and lavender helps you relax.

The Redmond AD3300 aroma diffuser, according to the manufacturer, will provide the atmosphere with the scent of your choice — both at home and in the car. And we’ll tell you now how he does it.

Equipment

The device is packaged in a dark gray cardboard box with a branded design and color printing. The front of the box shows the aroma diffuser in operation. Technical characteristics and contact information of the manufacturer are indicated on one of the side faces. On the other side there are illustrations explaining the functionality of the model.

The packaging contains information in three languages: Russian, English and Kazakh. Once opened, you'll find the device itself, a USB charging cable, three scent pads, a reusable oil container, and a user manual.

At first sight

The Redmond AD3300 aroma diffuser is a cylinder made of matte black plastic.

On the upper side we see a removable exhaust grille, divided into two parts by a handle with the manufacturer's logo.

The working chamber is located under the grate. The principle of operation of the device is simple: a fan hidden inside the case drives air through a container that houses a source of a pleasant smell.

The Redmond AD3300 aroma diffuser is designed for use with pure essential oils. These oils can be applied to the white felt sponges included with the device (three pieces included), or filled into a reusable plastic container.

The aroma carrier is placed in the working chamber of the device and saturates the air with a pleasant aroma.

The reusable container is equipped with a rubber stopper and a membrane for dispensing liquid from the bottom. To begin use, you must remove the protective layer of aluminum foil that protects the thin film.

Like the porous pads, the container is installed in the working chamber: the aroma carriers have the same size. The plug should point upward.

The diameter of the device is 70 mm. It matches the standard size of a car cup holder, so the aroma diffuser can be used both indoors and in the car.

In the center of the flat bottom, the manufacturer placed the mandatory nameplate with the serial number, technical information and certification information.

The aroma diffuser operates autonomously thanks to a built-in 700 mAh battery, providing up to two and a half hours of continuous operation. To charge the device, there is a USB Type-C connector located on the back of the cylindrical case.

The device is equipped with a 1 meter long USB cable. AC adapter is not included.

Instructions

Unlike most devices produced by the company, our device does not have a solid brochure on thick glossy paper, but a simple A4 loose leaflet with brief instructions.

The document is compiled in two languages: Russian and Kazakh. It contains a brief description of the purpose of the aroma diffuser, its structure, control methods and recommendations for caring for the device. On one of the pages there is space for marks from the seller and the service center, which also serves as a warranty card.

Control

The rotating lid has three fixed positions. The device is turned on by turning the handle 90° to the right or left and turns off in the middle position.

Redmond AD3300 has two operating modes. When you turn the knob to the left (clockwise), the fan runs continuously, and when you turn it to the right, the device turns on the air supply at intervals of 2 minutes. The first mode is recommended for indoor use, the second — in a car.

Exploitation

Before using your device, you must fully charge it.

To use Redmond AD3300, replaceable sponges made of porous material serve as fragrance carriers. If you plan to change scents frequently, use these sponges. Apply a few drops of concentrated oil to the sponge and place it in the working chamber of the device.

If you prefer one scent, it is more convenient to use the included container, removing the protective foil from the membrane. A refillable container holds more oil and won't have to be refilled as often. However, if you need to change the scent, it can be difficult to empty the container of the previous substance.

The Redmond AD3300 aroma diffuser operates in two modes. In indoor mode, the device diffuses the aroma for 30 minutes, then goes to sleep. To continue working, move the handle to the neutral position, and then back to the working position.

In car mode, the device turns on and off automatically: the fan runs for a minute, then pauses for 120 seconds and starts again.

When you turn on the device, a pleasant but dim backlight automatically lights up. It allows you to control the operation of the aroma diffuser, but does not interfere with driving in the dark.

The device fits easily into a car cup holder and works without the need for additional attention.

Unlike most battery-powered devices, the Redmond AD3300 can operate with a charger connected: the USB cable simultaneously powers the device itself and charges its battery.

Care

To clean the aroma diffuser body, it is recommended to use a damp cloth or sponge. Avoid using abrasives or chemicals. Do not immerse the device in water or wash it under running water.

As for the ceramic sponges and fragrance container, the instructions do not indicate specific cleaning methods. It is recommended to use general rules: to remove odors from ceramics, you can use a solution of citric acid or lemon juice, and also leave the sponges in water with sea salt for a while. It is best to use each of them for a different scent.

The plastic container can be washed with warm water and mild soap, then rinsed with acidified water and dried open.

Our measurements

In room aromatization mode, the aroma diffuser operates for 30 minutes and goes into sleep mode, while the battery capacity is enough for four cycles of use.

In the car mode (one minute of operation/two minutes of pause), one battery charge is enough for 29 three-minute cycles.

A fully discharged aroma diffuser charges in approximately 2.5 hours.

The noise level during operation of the device does not exceed 34 dBA.

conclusions

The Redmond AD3300 aroma diffuser provides a quick opportunity to fill small rooms or the interior of a car with your favorite aroma. It will create a cozy atmosphere in your home or office, and in a car it can be an excellent alternative to the traditional “Christmas tree” swinging on the rearview mirror.

It is convenient to pour your favorite mixtures with essential oils into the included container with a membrane diffuser — one filling will be enough for a long time. If you prefer to experiment with different scents, it is better to use sponges made of porous material: this will avoid mixing different scents.

Battery life was shorter than advertised, but this is not a major issue given the ease of access to a five-volt power source in the car or home.

We were disappointed by the lack of opportunity to purchase additional consumables: at the time of preparing the review, we did not find replacement plates and oil dispensers on the manufacturer’s website.

Pros:

  • stylish design
  • simple controls
  • Possibility of battery-powered operation
  • simultaneous operation and charging

Minuses:

  • lack of consumable accessories for sale
