The Garlyn GBO-1000 electric oven attracts attention with its aesthetic and modern design. Its outer body is made of black glossy glass, which gives it an elegant look. The door handle with a large transparent window is made of matte stainless steel, which gives the cabinet an aesthetic and stylish look. The touch buttons, which occupy most of the top panel, are highlighted in white, which adds modernity and convenience to operating the device.

The oven door and inner glass can be removed for easy cleaning. The door opens and closes softly, does not slam, and holds well when ajar. When closed, the fit is tight, we did not find any gaps or gaps.

The oven is equipped with a pair of removable telescopic guides. They are mounted at any of the levels. They take a lot of effort to remove and install, but they hold tight. Control

The Garlyn GBO-1000 control panel is divided into three parts: two blocks of touch buttons and a display in the middle. When turned off, the display is not backlit and blends in with the black surface of the panel. In operation, the buttons and symbols on the display glow brightly white.

After connecting to the power supply, you must set the time, otherwise the oven will not work. During setup, the display shows the adjustable operating parameters, and during the heating and operation of the oven, the selected mode, current temperature and time remaining until the end of the cycle. During the cooking process, time and temperature can be adjusted.

On the right side of the control panel there are buttons for turning the oven on and off, lighting in the chamber, setting the cooking time and temperature, setting a delayed start, confirming the selection and locking the panel.

When the heating is turned on, the lamp in the chamber is automatically activated and turns off after 2 minutes. Its operation can be turned on or off at any time using a separate button.

If you connect a temperature probe, the display will show the current temperature inside the oven and the temperature of the temperature probe itself alternately. You can set the temperature probe to a value at which the oven will beep.

Exploitation

Before starting use, we followed the instructions in the instructions and heated the Garlyn GBO-1000 oven to a temperature of 240°C for half an hour. There was a slight odor in the early stages, but it quickly disappeared. Once cooled, we wiped down the interior and cleaned the baking sheets and rack.

The oven pleased me with the uniformity and stability of heating throughout the entire cooking process. The resulting dishes had no burnt or undercooked areas. The device offers a wide range of modes, various temperature settings and a convenient timer. There are standard traditional modes with a combination of top and bottom heating, as well as a separate convection mode with a ring heating element around the fan. Additionally, a special defrosting mode is provided. The ability to use a spit and three modes for it allow you to cook quality meat, chicken or fish with an appetizing crispy crust.

A screen with information about the current operating mode, the current temperature inside the oven and the ability to connect a temperature probe make the Garlyn GBO-1000 convenient and informative to use. These features greatly improve the cooking experience.

Based on our measurements using a third-party temperature probe, the oven's built-in temperature probe shows the temperature with an accuracy of ±3°C, but immediately after heating begins, the temperature displayed on the display may be lower than the actual temperature. For example, when heated to 200°C, the value on the display showed 180°C. However, after a while the difference decreased to -3-5°C. During the process of heating and using the oven on the baking sheet, we used a reliable temperature probe, which is not included in the kit.

Controlling the oven is simple and intuitive, the design of the device itself is convenient, the thermal insulation is high-quality, and the sound signals are pleasant and do not interfere. The operation of the device is almost silent.

Care

To avoid future deposits, it is recommended to clean the oven cavity after each use. To do this, use warm water with a neutral detergent, a special grease remover, or a stainless steel cleaner. It is important to avoid the use of harsh chemicals and abrasives. After cleaning, the camera should be wiped until completely dry.

You can also use steam to clean the cooking chamber. Place a bowl with 250 ml of water on the lower level, turn on Eco mode and set the temperature to 50 °C for 30 minutes. After cooling, the inside surface should be cleaned with a soft cloth or sponge and detergent, and then wiped until completely dry.

The door seal, the door itself, the inner glass, side guide grilles and catalytic panels from the walls can be removed for cleaning. However, it is not recommended to wash the metal side grilles in the dishwasher. Therefore, it is worth referring to the instructions for detailed cleaning information.

The baking trays and wire rack can be washed under the tap using a neutral detergent and a soft sponge, avoiding the use of wire brushes or abrasives.

Our measurements

In standby mode, the device consumes 0.4-0.8 W. Maximum energy consumption in top and bottom heating mode with convection at a temperature of 200 °C is 2031 W.

For 1 hour of operation in top and bottom heating mode with convection at 200 °C, the oven consumed 0.935 kWh.

A cold oven heats up to 200 °C in 18 minutes, energy consumption during this time is 0.685 kWh.

We checked whether the heating of the baking tray corresponded to the specified temperature and the spread of values ​​across its plane. To do this, we turned on the lower and upper heating mode with convection at a temperature of 200 °C. Maintaining heat in the oven occurs as follows: first the temperature rises to a certain limit, then it begins to fall (heating is turned off), then it rises again (heating is turned on). We recorded these two numbers, the minimum and maximum temperature values, at five points on the heated baking sheet.

About the thermal insulation of the body. The oven door, operating at 180-200 °C for several hours, heated up to a maximum of 35 °C, the sides and outer top panel — up to 20-25 °C.

Practice tests

Grilled chicken with vegetables

A chicken weighing about 1.5 kg was rubbed with spices and vegetable oil, secured on a spit, its legs were tied and the wings were pinned with toothpicks to prevent burning. We placed the spit with the carcass in an oven heated to 180°C in the turbo grill + spit mode. A baking tray with potatoes and eggplants was placed on the lowest level.

The chicken was slowly spun on the spit for 1.5 hours until fully cooked. The vegetables became soft and juicy. The chicken was not dry and was well browned and evenly cooked.

Result: excellent.

Baked turkey fillet

The day before cooking, we marinated 2 kg of turkey fillet in spices and salt. The next day, they wrapped the bird in foil, tied it with a rope and sent it to bake in an oven preheated to 180°C, setting the upper and lower heating mode with convection. A temperature probe was inserted into the package and the temperature was set to 75 °C.

After 1 hour 50 minutes, the oven signaled that the desired temperature inside the piece had been reached, we turned off the heat and left the package inside for another hour.

Then we took out the turkey, unwrapped the foil and started tasting. The meat came out tender, quite juicy and evenly baked.

Result: excellent.

Macaroons

200 g of almonds were poured with boiling water, peeled, dried in the oven and ground into flour. Add 100 g of powdered sugar, half a teaspoon of baking powder and mix. In another container, beat two egg whites into a fluffy foam, add nut flour in two additions and mix gently. We formed balls, rolled them in powdered sugar, placed them on a baking sheet, previously covered with baking paper, and lightly pressed them on top until cracks formed.

The cookies were baked using convection mode in an oven preheated to 170 °C for 20 minutes. The crust turned out crispy, but the cookies remained quite soft inside.

The difference in temperatures along the plane of the baking sheet, which we noted during measurements, had no effect in practice — all the cookies were baked equally.

Result: excellent.

Cake

Ingredients: 4 eggs, 350 g flour, 200 g sugar, 250 g butter, 100 ml milk, 1 tsp. vanilla sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 tbsp. l. cocoa

First, grease the silicone mold with oil and sprinkle with flour. Vanilla sugar, salt and baking powder were added to the sifted flour. In a separate container, beat butter at room temperature with sugar with a mixer. Continuing to beat, add eggs one at a time. Pour in milk and stir. Add flour in a couple of additions and mix thoroughly again. Divided into two parts. Add cocoa to one and stir until completely dissolved.

Alternating layers, put the dough in a mold and put it in an oven preheated to 180°C in upper and lower heating mode for 50 minutes.

The cake baked evenly and didn't dry out.

Result: excellent.

Conclusions

Garlyan GBO-1000, taking into account all its advantages, certainly stands out among many similar ovens. This built-in oven is spacious, multi-functional and exactly meets the manufacturer's specifications. The device is equipped with an optimal set of modes, a convenient spit and a temperature probe. The oven control is intuitive, and the thermal protection of the housing is at a high level. It is important to note the presence of catalytic panels, side rails and a three-layer glass door, which can be easily removed for easy cleaning.

We didn't find any cons. The tested device proved to be a good-quality, beautiful, spacious oven with excellent functionality and efficiency.
