Equipment
The Haier HHY-Y64BFVB comes in a large, flat box made of simple, durable cardboard. On the front side of the package there is a company logo and a description of the type of device inside. There is a sticker on the side with detailed information about the model.
Inside the box, the hob was firmly fixed with a foam insert, and the front side was also lined with a foam sheet. In addition to the device, the package contained instructions and a set of brackets with screws.
At first sight
The Haier HHY-Y64BFVB induction hob looks excellent as an example of rigor and style.
The frameless glass-ceramic surface has beveled edges, and the absolutely smooth glossy coating in the area of the combined heating zones is highlighted with muted gray corrugations.
The remaining heating zones and touch buttons on the control panel, which is traditionally located in the front center, are highlighted in the same unobtrusive color.
Along the perimeter below we see a foam insert.
The height of the entire structure, together with the built-in part, is almost 5.5 cm. Slots for ventilation are visible in the front side part.
The plastic casing on the bottom side also has ventilation slots and a sticker with technical information.
Closer to the back of the case there is a cable outlet 1 meter long without a plug. The panel is connected to a power supply network with parameters of 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz.

Instructions
The instruction manual is presented in the form of a brochure printed on thick glossy paper. The document is compiled in two languages: Russian and Kazakh.
The instructions consistently provide detailed information about the device, operation and safety precautions, management, correct installation, as well as recommendations for preparation and a table with tips for troubleshooting possible problems without contacting service. The last page is reserved for the warranty card.
Control
The Haier HHY-Y64BFVB touch control panel consists of 7 buttons and 4 sliders — for each heating zone separately. Above the sliders there are indicators displaying the current power.
In the bottom row, in the center, is the power button, on either side of it are Pause/Start and Lock. Above are “−” and “+” for setting the cooking time, in the middle above them is the Timer.
Above each slider there is an image of the burner it belongs to. The scale has 15 steps indicating intermediate modes: Heating (minimum power), Melting chocolate, Simmering, Frying.
To activate the heating zone at minimum power, the first button (Heating) must be pressed and held for 3 seconds. If you need to start immediately from the maximum, you can press and hold (also for 3 seconds) the Boost button (designated P on the indicator), which starts the maximum heating power for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes of boost, the burner reduces the power and continues to operate at the last selected level. Boost can only be turned on on two burners at a time, located diagonally from each other.
The left group of burners can be combined at any time. To do this, just press the special Flex button above the leftmost scale. From this moment on, the heating zone becomes a single field and is controlled by one scale (either of the two).
The timer has two modes: countdown without turning off and turning off one or more zones simultaneously after a specified time has elapsed. The timer can be set from 1 to 99 minutes in 1-minute increments.
The appearance of the U icon above the scale of the operating heating zone means that the container placed on it is not suitable for induction or is offset from the center. In practice, the heating zone is not so sensitive and forgives slight movement of the pan, signaling a problem only if the container is moved more than halfway (or completely removed). The device does not make any sounds. If you return the dishes to their place within a minute, the heating will work again at the same power.
When cooking is complete, an indicator in the shape of the letter H lights up next to the switched-off burner, indicating that the heating zone is still hot.
The sound signals produced by the panel cannot be switched off, but are of moderate volume and are not annoying.
A burner operating at a certain power will switch itself off after a certain time.

Exploitation
Operating the Haier HHY-Y64BFVB hob did not cause any difficulties. When used, it proved to be stable and reliable. Smooth power control makes it possible to cook a variety of dishes. The touch buttons respond quickly to touches, even if your fingers are wet. Intuitive controls do not require lengthy study of instructions. The glass-ceramic coating is easy to clean from various contaminants. However, it's worth noting that this particular option does not have boil-dry protection.
Like most induction panels, Haier HHY-Y64BFVB has certain requirements for cookware. For best compatibility, it is recommended to use dishes with a flat, smooth bottom and a magnetic base. Cookware made of stainless steel, aluminum, copper without a magnetic bottom, glass, wood, porcelain, ceramics and clay are not suitable for use on this stove. Checking compatibility is simple: if the cookware is attracted to the magnet, then it is suitable for use on an induction surface.
On this stove you can simultaneously place two containers with a diameter of 25-26 cm on the rear burners, one with a diameter of 18 cm on the right front, and on the left front you can use dishes with a diameter of up to 16 cm.
Care
To care for the hob, it is enough to promptly wipe it with a soft sponge or cloth using neutral detergents. To remove stains, you can wipe the panel dry with a dry soft cloth or paper towel. Chemically aggressive compounds and scratching sponges should not be used. If necessary, it is possible to use a special scraper for glass-ceramic surfaces.
Our measurements
Boiling 1 liter of water at 20°C
On the far right burner with a power of 2000 W in Boost mode in a saucepan with the lid closed, 1 liter of water at a temperature of 20 °C boiled in 4 minutes 46 seconds. Energy consumption was 0.167 kWh.
Power consumption in various modes
In modes 1 to 3, all burners operate in pulse mode, either turning on the emitter at different powers or turning it off. The duration of the on/off cycle is indicated in the table. The average power was calculated using the formula: power consumption × total duration of switching on / (total duration of switching on + total duration of pauses).
The minimum diameter of cookware for three powerful burners is 12 cm, for a small burner — 10 cm. It should be remembered that in cookware smaller than 22 cm on large burners, the power after level 11-13 drops to level 7. Boost with cookware of this size will only work on a small burner. At full power, the hob works with containers with a diameter of 26-29 cm. In the combined zone, the full power will also depend on the size of the cookware.

Heating element size
To determine the size of the heating elements, we placed a large container on the stove and poured some water into it. After a few seconds, bottom bubbles indicated the configuration of the heating element: a circle with almost straight edges without voids inside. On the two left burners the diameter of the circle was 18 cm, on the far right — 17 cm, on the near right — 12 cm. In the combined zone, the two touching circles are a total of 37 cm in length and approximately 16 cm in width.
Other measurements
The energy consumption of the hob in the off state is 0 W, in the on state, but without working burners — 4.9 W.
The maximum power recorded by the wattmeter when heating one large burner in Boost mode was 3607 W. For 1 hour 30 minutes of cooking the broth without boiling heavily (level 5), the energy consumption was 0.950 kWh. For 2 hours of stewing meat and vegetables on a combined heating zone, the device consumed 1.017 kWh.
Fan noise is very moderate. The clicking of heating elements in pulse modes is barely audible. When the panel cools down (after switching off), the power consumption is 7.7 W.
Practice tests
Chicken broth
When preparing the broth, we were interested in the rate of boiling of water and the ability of the hob to maintain a low temperature for a long time.
3 liters of water on the far right burner in Boost mode boiled under the lid in 14 minutes 20 seconds. Since the Boost mode automatically switches to the previously set level after 5 minutes, we turned it on again each time, a total of three times.
We removed the foam from the broth, added salt, added onion and black peppercorns and reduced the power to 4. Using a thermometer lowered into the pan, we determined that at this level the broth was cooked at 85–88 °C. The next level (5) corresponds to a subtle boil at 89–93 °C. We left the power at 5 and after an hour and a half we got aromatic chicken broth. Throughout the cooking time, the temperature fluctuated by a couple of degrees at most. There was no sharp decline or boiling over.
Result: excellent.
Steak
We placed the beef steak on a hot frying pan, turning on Boost for a couple of minutes, and then continuing on the 13th level, and finally on the 8th level.
The meat immediately had the right crust and in a total of 10 minutes was perfectly fried, without drying out, remaining tender inside, as planned.
Result: excellent.
Funchoza with pork and vegetables
For a large frying pan with a diameter of about 32 cm, we combined the two left burners. First of all, we fried the pork in Boost mode. Then, remaining at power level 13, thinly sliced vegetables were added to the fried pork: carrots, bell peppers and cucumbers.
Overall, it turned out well and quite quickly. Except that we wanted a more obvious crust on the meat. The fact is that with dishes that do not completely cover the combined zone, Boost and levels 11 to 15 work weaker than stated by about 300-800 W, which we already described in the section on measurements. This is not a disadvantage, but a feature of induction heating, and it should be taken into account when selecting containers for cooking.
Pour the contents of the frying pan with a mixture of melted honey, soy sauce and ginger and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Meanwhile, nearby, on the next burner, funchose was already prepared.
Add it to the pan and mix everything thoroughly.
Result: excellent.
Stewed pork with vegetables
Ingredients: pork ham — 1 kg, 4 potatoes, 1 zucchini, 2 large tomatoes, one carrot, one onion, vegetable oil, salt, ground black pepper, suneli hops
To start, we quickly fried the ingredients one by one until lightly browned.
Then they folded it in layers into a large cast iron patch (duckling pot), added garlic and diced tomatoes on top and placed it on the left side of the panel, combining the two zones into one.
We poured in some water, spices, salt, brought the contents to a boil and simmered at power level 3 for 2 hours. An hour after the start of stewing, everything was carefully mixed.
All products were stewed evenly, the meat turned out soft, the vegetables were cooked equally well and did not turn into porridge.
Result: excellent.
Pancakes
Ingredients: milk — 200 ml, flour — 1.5-2 cups, egg — 1 pc., 1-2 tbsp. l. sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, salt and vegetable oil for frying
At first we tried to fry the pancakes on the 10th setting, but one (located in the center) was burned. For the next batch, we lowered the heating to 8, and then switched to 6. This power seemed optimal to us.
As expected, the pancakes were fried less well at the edges of the pan than in the center, but if you manage to swap some of them at the right moment, overall it turns out very well. The crust was golden brown and the dough was baked inside. The far right burner was used.
Result: good.
