Equipment
The delivery includes a small rectangular white cardboard box, externally decorated with the brand name, kettle model and a bright image of the device on the front side.
On the side edges of the box, brief technical information about the kettle is provided, as well as pictograms highlighting the main characteristics of the device, along with information about the manufacturer.
Having opened the box, inside we found:
- kettle
- teapot lid
- base with power cord
- manual
Inside the box, all parts are packed in protective plastic bags, printed materials are placed without packaging, and the kettle is fixed on top with a polyethylene foam form.
At first sight
The kettle is equipped with a white stand on which a control panel and a round black display are placed. The kettle itself is equipped with a white plastic base, handle and lid. Between them there is a transparent glass flask. The design of the device is simple and stylishly laconic, reminiscent of the shape of a drip coffee maker jug. Convenience and a pleasant feeling when holding it in your hands make it comfortable to use.
The glass spout of the teapot continues the flask and looks neat and stylish. The design does not provide a filter, which may be important for users with hard water that produces a lot of scale.
The handle of the kettle is very comfortable and sits securely in the hand. It is made of white plastic and looks stylish.
The water flask has a graduation of 3 marks — 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 liters. Through the glass flask we can see the convex bottom made of stainless steel.
The lid of the kettle is made of white plastic with a silver pattern of the brand emblem on the handle. The inside of the lid is equipped with a sealing silicone ring that ensures a secure fit to the flask.
The lid is easy to put on and take off using the centrally located plastic handle. A little pressure or pulling on the handle is enough for this operation.
At the bottom of the kettle there is a nameplate with brief technical information about the device and a contact group consisting of three concentric rings and a central pin.
On the top of the base of the device we see a plastic nozzle for the contact group. As well as a round display on the left and a control panel with four touch buttons on the right.
Upon closer inspection of the bottom of the device, we notice a label with brief technical information and a warning in English regarding water immersion. The manufacturer also equipped the base with four rubber feet located in the corners to prevent the device from sliding on the table surface.
Instructions
The operating instructions are presented in the form of a thin A5 brochure. The material is made of glossy paper that is pleasant to the touch, which is easy to touch. Among several Evolution brand devices provided for our testing, this copy is the first to have page numbers and a table of contents in the instructions — which is really valuable!
Thanks to the table of contents, we quickly navigated the text and instantly found the necessary information. The presentation of the material is simple and clear, with detailed instructions for switching operating modes and setting a timer, which allowed us to get answers to all our questions.
Control
As mentioned earlier, there is a touch panel on the kettle stand. By using the «Mode selection» button, you can easily set the temperature mode, after which we simply activate the switch on or, if necessary, select the auto-heating function using the «Maintain temperature» button or set a delayed start using the «Timer» button.
Touch buttons provide silent control, and upon completion of boiling or program completion, the kettle notifies the user with three short and quiet beeps.
When the water temperature is below 45 degrees and without an active program, the kettle automatically goes into sleep mode within 3 minutes. To exit sleep mode, just press any button or raise and lower the kettle.
Exploitation
Before using it, it is recommended to rinse the kettle with cold water and boil it several times.
To fill the kettle, you need to remove the easy and silent lid. Filling of water occurs quickly and without splashing, which seems very satisfactory — changing the angle of inclination affects the pouring speed, so it is recommended to avoid sudden movements.
Immediately after boiling, the appliance becomes very hot and touching it can cause burns (surface temperature reaches 92 °C). Within 3 minutes after boiling, the temperature rises to 94 °C.
It is noticeable that the boiling process, both for the full volume of the kettle and for one liter of water, takes longer compared to conventional kettles with a power of 1500-1800 W. This is because despite the lower power, the heating efficiency remains high and the electricity consumption remains approximately the same.
The built-in temperature sensor of the kettle allows an error of about 3 degrees, which manifests itself in the fact that the kettle boils for another 30 seconds after reaching the set temperature.
The keep warm function works reliably and conveniently, allowing you to maintain the desired temperature without boiling again.
If the kettle is turned on without water, it goes into emergency mode, emitting a characteristic technical smell. After cooling, which lasts about five minutes, the device is ready for use again.
Care
Before carrying out the cleaning procedure, you must disconnect the kettle from the power supply and allow it to cool completely. It is recommended to wipe the outer casing with a damp and soft cloth as dirt accumulates.
To clean the inside of the kettle, it is recommended to use a damp cloth and then wipe with a dry cloth. When scale forms, it is recommended to use citric acid, vinegar or a special descaling agent. The use of abrasive and caustic cleaning agents is strictly prohibited.
Our measurements
The weight of the kettle is 760 g, the base — 411 g.
When carrying out measurements, we used filtered water at a temperature of 20 °C.

Water temperature in the kettle 2 hours after boiling | 53,0 °C |
Water temperature in the kettle 3 hours after boiling | 43,7 °C |
Time to pour out the full volume of water in the normal way | 13 seconds |
The maximum power consumption during operation of the device was 1063 W, the average was 970 W.
The noise level when water boiled reached 61 dBA.
Note that after boiling, the water boils vigorously for another 30 seconds — the boiling sensor responds very late.
conclusions
At the end of testing, we were left a little perplexed. The Evolution KG1015S Thermocontrol electric kettle with temperature maintenance function really looks attractive, has a high-quality build made of durable materials, operates silently, is easy to hold and has a neat stream when pouring. At first glance, these characteristics might be sufficient.
However, the low power of 1000 W results in a slow heating process — it takes 7 minutes and 20 seconds to heat a liter of water, and 10 minutes and 48 seconds to heat a full kettle. This may not satisfy those who prefer faster results.
So we have a kettle that looks very attractive, but exhibits slow performance. However, a device with a power of 1000 W will probably be an excellent choice for summer residents who have limited electrical power of 4-5 kW available. In this case, speed may be less critical than being able to use multiple devices simultaneously without risk of overload.
A notable aspect is also the mode of heating water to a temperature of 42 °C and then maintaining this temperature for 9 hours. Obviously, these values were not chosen at random: this temperature and duration correspond to the preparation of infant formula and the sleep period. This is a smart solution that really improves usability for a certain category of users, such as new parents.
Pros:
- touch control
- the desired temperature and maintaining it, delayed start
- stylish design
- removable cover
Minuses:
- long boiling time due to low power
- delayed shutdown (water actively boils for another half a minute after boiling)
- inaccurate temperature sensor
- no scale filter
